Terms of Service

1. Service publisher

ScanCompta is a service published by Pierre Dick-Aven, sole trader, registered under SIREN number 101528982, based at 16 Rue de la Renardière, 94300 Vincennes, France. Contact: contact@scancompta.eu.

2. Description of the service

ScanCompta is a web application that lets you photograph receipts and invoices, automatically extract information (amount, VAT, date, category) using artificial intelligence, organize it, and export it for bookkeeping purposes.

Important: ScanCompta is a management aid tool. It does not provide any accounting, tax, or legal advice and does not replace an accountant or the legal obligation to keep original documents. The user remains solely responsible for the accuracy of the data sent to their accountant and to tax authorities.

3. User account

Registration requires a valid email address. The user is responsible for keeping their credentials confidential and for any activity carried out from their account. Any account used fraudulently or in breach of these Terms may be suspended.

4. Plans and pricing

• Free plan: 5 scans per calendar month, basic features.
• Pro plan: €5.99/month or €57/year, unlimited scans and advanced features.

Payment is processed by Stripe. The subscription automatically renews and can be cancelled at any time from the app settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. In accordance with article L221-28 of the French Consumer Code, the user agrees to immediate performance of the service and waives their right of withdrawal for the period already started.

5. Accuracy of automatic extraction

Data extraction by artificial intelligence is provided for guidance only. Despite our efforts, reading errors may occur (amount, VAT, date). The user must review extracted data before validation. VAT amounts flagged as "estimated" are calculated from the selected rate and not read from the receipt.

6. Data retention and availability

Receipt photos and extracted data are kept for as long as the account is active. The user may delete their receipts at any time. ScanCompta uses reasonable means to ensure the availability of the service, without any guarantee of continuous availability. Users are advised to keep original supporting documents in accordance with their legal obligations (a minimum of 6 years for tax purposes).

7. Liability

ScanCompta cannot be held liable for indirect damages resulting from the use of the service, in particular in the event of an extraction error not corrected by the user, a tax reassessment, or data loss resulting from a user's fault. In any case, the publisher's liability is limited to the amounts paid by the user over the previous 12 months.

8. Intellectual property

The application, its brand, design, and code are the property of the publisher. The user retains full ownership of their data and supporting documents.

9. Termination and account deletion

The user may delete their account at any time from the settings or by writing to contact@scancompta.eu. Deletion results in data being erased within 30 days (see Privacy Policy).

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute, an amicable solution will be sought before any legal action. Failing that, the French courts will have jurisdiction.
